KINDERGARTEN TRAINING
SECOND CARNEGIE GRANT OFFER TO NEW ZEALAND [by telegraph—PßESS association] DUNEDIN*. Wednesday Tho president of the Free Kindergarten Union of New Zealand, Lady Sidey, has received the following cablegram from tho Carnegie Corporation of New York: —"The sum of £SOO is available for a second and final Kindergarten Fellowship."
The first C'arnegio Kindergarten Fellowship was made available to New Zealand by the trustees of the Carnegie Fund last year. The grant was £SOO (at par) and was mado to enable a promising New Zealand student to visit the United States for advanced training in kindergarten work. It is understood the offer was mado at the instance of President Coffman, of the University of Minnesota, who visited the Dominion some time ago. Miss E. Scott, of Taranaki Street Free Kindergarten, Wellington, was chosen for tho first fellowship.
