GERMAN BARQUE DUE

CORK CARGO FROM SPAIN NOW OUT FOR 73 DAYS An expected arrival at Auckland at an early date is the German four-masted auxiliary barque Magdalene Vinnen, from Spain. The vessel left Algeciras on November 13 with a small consignment of cork for Auckland. After discharge she will proceed to Australia to load wheat for Europe. The Magdalene Vinnen is a steel vessel of 3476 tons, and is one of the largest sailing vessels afloat. She is fitted with a 500 h.p. Diesel engine for use in calm weather. It is now 73 days since she left Spain, and her arrival is expected at any time. . . Two other sailing vessels, the Finnish barque Winterhude and the Finnish fourmasted barque Passat, are due at Auckland next month with guano cargoes from Seychelles Island.
