Mac( town Reefs Prospecting Company, Limiteii, with a capital of £6OOO in shares of £1 each, has been registered in Dunedin. The objects ara to acquire from a mining syndicate the licences for certain mining privileges and to carry out prospecting work. As soon as tne level reaches this point, a rise will be put up to enable • the ore to be stoped out and also to supply vontihttion. A trail of gold has been follow;d up, and its source located right on tliD boundary of the Long Trail and Ked Trail mines. The new vein is in a very convenient location for economical working. At the battery the berdans are runnir g 10 hours a day on the tailing from the preliminary crushing. This will take the rest of the week to complete. |.' Taliuman Dubbo (Karangahake).—The drive ai; No. 1 Talisman level has been extended Bft; for the week ending January 21. A good, firm class of country is being. mot. We are getting close - under the Dubbc. face and have turned the level ito allow for tho underlay of the reef. In the Enbbo level, which is 115 ft. abov® us, the reef is wider than the drive.
