Mr. R. P. Anjius, chief mechanical engineer of tjje Railways Department,/ arrived by the limited express yesterday morning on a visit of inspection. He is at the Station Hotel.
Sir. F.,W. Mothes, managing director of the Goldberg Advertising Agency, Limited, returned by the Monowai from a business visit to Australia, and left for Wellington Inst evening.
Mr. D. V. Tornson, of London, managing director of Briscoe and Company, Limited, arrived on Monday from Australia, where he has been on a round of visits to his company's * branches. He will spend a month in New Zealand, which he last, visited four years ago.
Captain A. Nelson, of Blenheim, has been appointed harbourmaster at Foxfon. Captain Nelson, who is at present pilot on the Wairau Bar, is well known on the coast, and has had considerable experience in the -vorking of bar harbours. He was formerly master of the auxiliary scow Echo and <f the steamer Himitangi.
