ST. JOHN AMBULANCE

HEAVY TRANSPORT SERVICE WORK OF DISTRICT NURSES A record in ambulance transport work was established by the Auckland branch of the St. John Ambulance Association last month. The ambulances stationed at Rutland Street, Queen's Wharf and Devonport covered a total distance of 5438 miles during the month and transported 476 patients. ' In addition, 339 casualty cases and outpatients received attention at the Queen's Wharf ambulance station and 38 at the Rutland Street central station. Under the association's district nursing scheme, 698 visits were paid to various homes during the month and 180 outpatients received attention. The light cars used by the district nurses in their work travelled a total distance of 1500 miles.

The annual meeting of the association will be held in tho Town Hall concert chamber on February 9.
