HAMILTON REGATTA AN ATTRACTIVE PROGRAMME [FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT] HAMILTON, Monday Preparations for the Hamilton Regatta to be held at Furry Bank on Anniversary Day, next Monday, are nearing completion. Entries for the rowing events constitute a record, eclipsing even those of last year, when the championships were decided. Tho outstanding- event of this year's carnival will be tho holding of a ladies' rowing race for the first time in the history of a Hamilton regatta. The event will take the form of a pair-oar race over a half-mile course. The Canoe Club is providing" an entertaining programme, which will includo a spectacular parade of 40 canoes paddling in formation. The entries for the St. John Ambulance competitions are up to those of previous years, while the wrestling bouts wilL again be an attractive diversion. > DRAW FOR POSITIONS [BY TF.r.EGRAI'H—OWN CORRESPONDENT] HAMILTON, MoDday The regatta committee of the Hamilton Rowing Club lias announced -.the handicaps and positions for the Anniversary Day fixture. The entries are tho largest for at least 10 years. Positions are numbered from one to ten, ami the numbering commences from the western bank, which is on the town side. Haua's crew defeated D. Cameron's. Second heat: G. Cameron's crew defeated G. Dennigton's. Semi-final: S. Smith's crew defeated .C. Haua's. Final: C. Cameron's crew defeated S. Smith's by hall a length.
