A MOTH
Sir, —A stranger to me is a moth of unusual beauty, found, unfortunately, with a broken wing, struggling on the metal road near by. The inch and a-half long leaf-shaped outer wings are a selfcoloured dull orange. The under-wings a delicate shaded mauve, which also colours the upper of the orange body and legs to : match. It has prominent black beaded eyes. Will any of your born naturalist readers give me i';s local name ? Otherwise. I shall call i; a Jersey moth, as it much resembles our good friend the Jersey cow. E. IL. Mannington. ,
