NO CUT IN WAGES
THE PUBLIC SERVICE PRIME MINISTER'S ASSURANCE [BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS! ASSOCIATION] •WELLINGTON, Monday An announcement that no further reduction in wages of public servants would bo enforced by the Government was made by the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forben, in reply to a question to-day whether the raising of the exchange was an alternative to wage and salary cuts and would remove the necessity for carrying out a policy of further deflation.
Mr. Forbes was not disposed to discuss the question at length.
