Cassells have announced a " Life " of the Prince of Wales, by Mr. Edgar Middleton.
Mr. H. G. Wells' new novel bears the curious title of "The Bulphington of Blup." It contains about 140,000 word 3.
In connection with tho death of Kenneth Grahame, it is mentioned that 250,000 copies of " Tho Wind in tho Willows " have been sold since 1908. In order to publish his " Life of Archbishop Davidson " as soon as possible, tho Bishop of Chichester, Dr. Bell, has decided not to take any further diocesan engagements, arid ho is asking to bo spared all correspondence. San Diego, California, according to the Christian Science Monitor, won the world's record in 1931-32 for the most library books read per head of population. The 147,000 citizens read a little more, oil an average, than eleven books each. The cottage at Sompting, near Worthing, where Edward John Trelawny spent, his later years, has been sold by auction for £IBOO. Trelawny, the former friend of Byron and Shelley, was particularly pqoud of the cottage garden, where ho succeeded in growing figs.
