CHILDREN'S PARTY

A Christmas tree party to celebrate the first anniversary was held by the Aranga Institute recently. The tree had been erected and decorated by Airs. Hanson and her sons and was a sight to rejoice tho hearts of all children. Father Christmas called early in the evening and each child went away with an armful of treasures. The Regent Alolody Boys of Waimamaku delighted the gathering with their splendid music and gay songs. The retiring president, Airs. Pryce, in a black lace frock and black bridge coat trimmed with white fur, cut tho birthday cake and presented prizes won during tho year to Aliss V. Hansen and Airs. N. McCullough. The president for the coming year, Airs. G. Downey, who wore a frock of chenille velvet, was introduced and welcomed. Supper was provided by the members of the institute and dancing till a late hour ended a very successful gathering.
