THEFT ALLEGED
SALESMAN FOR TRIAL
A salesman, George Horace McMullen (Mr. Greig), aged 25, appeared before Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M., in the Police Court yesterday, on charges of stealing a wireless set valued at £l3 10s, the property of 11. C. Berridge, at Ell ham on September 10, a set valued at £35 10s, the property of an Auckland firm, on August 26, and, with intent to defraud, obtaining a set valued at £lB 6s 8d on or, about June 10 by falsely representing that it was for an Auckland finn. _ Detective Slater said the accused, in an interview, admitted obtaining the se mentioned in the third charge, but said it was for his own account. Accused was remanded to appear a Eltham on December 1 on one thei charge. A plea of not guilty was entered in regard to the other counts, the accuse being committed to. the Supremo Loin for trial. Bail was renewed in t sum of £IOO, a bond of a similar amount being ordered in respect of the remand o Eltham.
