INTERCOLONIAL SERVICE
THE MARAMA REAPPEARS
After an absence from Auckland of over five months the Union Company's steamer Marama arrived from Sydney yesterday morning, having been recommissioned in the intercolonial service. The vessel was last at Auckland 011 Juno 14, when she arrived from Sydney and sailed the same day for Wellington, where sho was withdrawn for the winter months. Before being recornmissioned tho vessel was docked at Wellington and underwent an extensive overhaul, which included the painting of the hull and deck fittings. The cabins and social rooms were also redecorated and some of the cabins were enlarged by the removal of bunks, a number of four-berth and three-berth cabins being converted into two-borth cabins.
Tho Marama will run in conjunction with the company's liner Monowai, which has been transferred to the intercolonial service from tho San Francisco run, in which she has been replaced by the Maunganui. i'ho Monowai will leave Auckland for Sydney and Melbourne £very four weeks, commencing on Thursday, December 1. From Melbourne sho will proceed to Sydney and Wellington, and from Wellington to Sydney and Auckland. The Marama will make alternate trips from Sydney to Auckland and from Sydney to Wellington. She will leave Sydney for Auckland on Thursdays, instead of tho usual sailing day, Friday.
