Entries must be posted not later than WEDNESDAY, November 30th. A Funnisum is really a very simple sum in -which the to be added or multiplied are slightly disguised. For instance, instead of saying 12 multiplied by 3, we say the number of pence in a shilling multiplied by a quarter of dozen. £IOO will be given to the person who solves the following * Fumusuan correctly. The replies are still being marked, but indications are that, although several people have arrived at the right answer, the shares of the prize-money will be quite large. A list of the names of the successful competitors will be published in the' "Auckland Weekly News " of Wednesday, November 30th, and cheques will be sent to the prize-winners on that day. We will send a letter explaining the whole working out of Funnisum No. 1 to anyone who asks for it, provided that the request is accompanied by either 6d in stamps or an order of not less then 2/6 for Town and Country Stores. If you get this explanation it will prevent your making the same mistake a second time. 1 REASON FOR FUNNISUMS.
