UNEMPLOYMENT
Sir, —According to press reports grants are to be mado during the holidays, for which no return in labour is to be given. Surely, sorhe return should be given. The paths and roads locally are as bad as ever they were and the sum already spent might have been emptied in the sea. I enter a protest as a man in regular employment, but with a minimum wage, less Government taxes. I can only keep a roof over my head and feed my family. Unlike many I know on relief works, I cannot run a motor-car, make weekly visits to the pictures, weekly bowls and also dances and card parties. Personally, I can say I would be better on relief than my job. This is a fact. Ardmore. Geo. Moore.
