HOSPITAL AUXILIARY
Continued activity throughout the jiast month was revealed at a council meeting of the Auckland Hospital Auxiliary, which was held yesterday and was presided over by the president,"Mrs. E. A. Kidd. The depot, report slated that 501 garments 11 a(I been distributed during the month, while 150 miscellaneous donations had been received in addition to 80 from various women's institutes, the Mount Eden branch and outside workers. Patients who had been taken to their homes numbered six, while orders for food had been given to 13 people, six pairs of boots or shoes had been given by a local firm and 43 families bad been helped with clothing. Thanks were expressed to the Victoria League and the Lyceum Club for donations of magazines and to the Hospital Board for a gift of blankets which had become too hard for use on the beds, but which were greatly appreciated by several poor families. The reports of the various branches were each read by a representative and showed that sustained activity was being carried on, and that every effort was being made to meet the growing demands on the resources of the organisation occasioned by the present timo of stress.
