DUNEDIX, Wednesday

So swift was the destruction by fire of an old wooden seven-roomed house near Outrani yesterday afternoon that only three of the 11 Chinese working in a near by market garden were able to save their personal property. One of the Chinese retrieved £7B in notes from the blaze. The fire started in a wash-house, and, with a strong wind blowing, the place was gutted in ten minutes.
