FARM LABOUR PROBLEM
SHORTAGE IN TARANAKI
For some months ]»nst there lias been a serious sliortago of farm labour in Taranaki. Almost every day advertisements appear calling for applications for farm work. Many of these offer attractive terms, but usually ilio response given is meagre. Similarly, employment agencies in New Plymouth report a dearth of farm labourers. At present tbero are 110 single men on their books available for farm work. The Government employment bureau reports a similar state of affairs.
