fI)Y telegraph—press association] DUIvEDIN. "Wednesday Jn tho Police Court to-day fines totalling £270 were imposed 011 four men who pleaded guilty to betting offences. Arthur Edwin Lord, for using premises as a gaming house, was fined £IOO and John Alfred Haig, for permitting the use of the premises, was fined £SO. For frequenting the street for betting purposes, William Valentine Forrester was fined £IOO, and on a similar charge William Edward Bolton was fined £2O.
