FAITH HEALING
Sir, —From various statements made in your columns on November 1 by a Mr. Cruickshank it would seem indeed that. Mr. Dallimore i:; healing the sick of Auckland in a wholesale manner. He asks us to respect the method of Divine healing as used by Mr. Dallimore, as any successful method of healing and relief from suffering should be respected, whether Divine or human. But is Mr. Dallimore successful? Indeed, he is drawing the crowds, hundreds are flocking to his platforms, but are not many of the crowd but sceptics or curious spectators, and are not hundreds having their faith in Christ, smashed because they have not had the relief they believed they would have? Mr. Cruickshank quotes Matthew ix., 35, as a claim for Divine healing. In this verse it states that Christ healed "every sickness and every disease among the people." Is Mr. Dallimore doing this ? From the investigations of Mr. Melvin and divers others, it seems that there is very little, if any at all, actual healing going on. Christ caused the blind to see. Ha,s Mr. Dallimore visited the Blind Institute yet ? Or does his faith fail him 1 He claims to be replacing'parts of the body, but all his claims are in reference to internal parts which we cannot see. On investigation these claims, too, prove empty. Cannot he put a finger or two back on somebody's hand or in some other way replace an external portion of the body?"l should like, with the rest of Auckland, a medically certified case of healing. As a Christian, I want Christ's name glorified, not insulted. J. R. Eldraji.
