COCKLE BAY POWER At a meeting of the Howick Town Board on Thursday evening, the chairman, Mr. Arthur Cherry, reported that work had started on the installation of electric supply to the Cockle Bay area by th» Auckland Power Board. Two new stmt lights would he placed there. The building inspector reported that permits had recently been granted for new buildings and alterations to the value of £2500. Four new buildings were at pres* ont in course of erection. , A deputation of ratepayers from Cockle Bay outlined necossary improvements in that district. A letter was received from the Domain Board suggesting tha cutting back portion of the bend on the main road to the beach to ensure better visibility for motor traffic, the road being rather narrow at this point.
