CHILD AS AN AIR PARCEL

Lucille Matheson, aged eight years, -was lately sent from Detroit to Chicago " by the pound " in an aeroplane. Her father, Mr. Edmund Matheson, discovered that it was cheaper than to send her as a regular passenger. Tho girl was described on a waybill attached to her clothing as " one female child, 501b." She was delivered to her mother, who arrived in Chicago on the same aeroplane. Air line officials accepted the consignment, but said that they would refuse to take such " packages " In the future.
