Guy Fawkes' Day! What a blaze of bonfires there will be to-night, what a snapping and (banging of crackers and fireworks! I saw one great pile of gorse and branches in a Remuera field this week, and can just imagine the fun there will bo to-night, with the flames leaping j.n the darkness, and the little figures dancing and rushing about in the glare! I hope you will all be very careful and not see what I once saw in America, a bunch of lighted crackers dropped into a great case of fireworks! It was like a bombardment, and you may be sure we all rail for our lives. Fortunately there were no serious casualties although one girl got her dress burnt, and the men who tried to throw the fireworks out of the box got their hands burned. So mind you are all very, very careful! The closing date for our Christmas competitions is drawing near, so please send your entries in promptly. Love to you all from Your Friend,
