THE TOWN HALL
Sir, —As a city ratepayer I protest 1 against the refusal of the best part of £IOO to be received as rent from revival fire services. Excluding the aspect of religious "liberty" and British justice, is it fair that City Councillors should turn down money, which they undoubtedly need to provide employment and keep down economy cuts? 'lbis rent will now go to a private person, and tins City Council will still cry "economy" and "not enough money." Lost Confidence. Sir,—As a humble ratepayer, 1 must congratulate those councillors who had the courage to question the report of the. Mayor and Finance Committee on their decision regarding Mr. Dallimorc s meetings, and I hope that more will be heard of the matter. Is there any more influence for good or bad, right or wrong, in Mr. Uallimore's mission, than in boxing or wrestling matches, political or protest meetings '! Democracy. Sir,—l would like to mention that Mr. A. 11. Dallimore recently held a community sing-song in the l.own Hall in aid of the Unemployment Fund, and the amount collected was £54 odd. Later another community singsong was held in the Street Hall, in aid of the Citv Mission's funds, when the sum of over £4O was collected. 1 would say, therefore, to the Churches, "to go and do thou likewise." * Inasmuch.
