NEW ZEALAND WEAK MOVEMENTS ON CONTINENT DANISH PRICE IMPROVES Unfavourable influences continue to operate in the London market for New Zealand butter and prices have registered a further decline. On a short market last week New Zealand choicest was quoted at 106s a cwt., while this week, with the prospect of early replenishments, the market has eased 3s a cwt. to 103s for finest. On the other hand, the Continental position has improved and Danish has hardened from 6s to 8s a cwt. to 1245, following an increased demand from Belgium and France prior to the easing of the German embargo. Values for cheese aro steady and no movement has taken place in the quotations for either colour since hist week. Tho Press Association message from London states that tho market for Danish butter is firm and active at 124s a cwt. Others are slow. New Zealand choicest salted is quoted nominally at 103s; first grade, 95s to 965; Australian, choicest, 945; New Zealand, unsalted, 108s to 109s; Australian, 98s to 100s. The cheese market is dull. New Zealand, coloured, is quoted at 60s; white, 665. In the corresponding period of October the butter market was slow. Danish was quoted at 118s a cwt.; New Zealand choicest, salted, which was very scarce, 114s; first grade, 106s to 107s; choicest Australian, 104s to 105s; unsalted New Zealand, 112s to 116s; Australian, 104s to 108s. New Zealand coloured cheeso was quoted at 60s to 625; white, 65s to 665. A year ago the butter market was slow. Danish wa s quoted at 128s to 130s; choicest salted New Zealand, 119s to 120s; Australian, 112s; unsalted sorts at the same prices. The cheese market was quiet. New Zealand coloured was quoted at 68s; white, 695; Australian, coloured, 663 6d; white, 67s 6d. REPORTS FROM MERCHANTS DETAILS OF QUOTATIONS Merchants have received the following cablegrams from their London houses, dated November 3:— A. S. Paterson and Company, Limited, from J. and J. Lonsdale and Company, Limited.—Butter: Tho Continental market is firmer owing to the indication of a deniaud from. Belgium and France beforo tho new regulations operate in Germany on tho 15th inst., when it is expected that 6000 to 8000 moro casks of Danish will go weekly to Germany, and similarly increased quantities of Baltic. The North of England and London markets aro easier on the near arrival of larger quantities and lower c.i.f.e. offers. Quotations are:—New Zealand, 104s to 105s; first, 95s to 965; Australian, 93s to 945. Cheeso: Tho tendency is easier; white, 653 to 665; coloured, 60s to 61s. Davidson, Limited, Glasgow.- Butter: New Zealand, salted, 95s to 104s a cwt.; unsalted, 104s to 110s, equivalent to 10.27 d a lb., and 11.07 d a, lb. f.0.b., respectively.' The market is slow. Cheese: White, 665; coloured, 60s, equivalent to 6.24 d a lb., and 5.60 d a lb. f.o.b. Auckland, respectively. Tho market is steady.
