ENGLISH VICAR'S VIEWS SPECIAL SERVICE OPPOSED LONDON, Oct. 2S "I regard Armistice Day as a (lying institution," said the Rev. P. Carpenter, vicar of New Mills, Derbyshire, who has refused to hold a special Armistice Day service. Mr. Carpenter said he would conduct a service but it would be the ordinary Sunday morning service. '"The good churchgoer does not need a special day to think and pray on the lines of Armistice Day," he said.
