FILMING OF " CAVALCADE " PART FOR DIANA WYNYARD The important leading part of Jane Marryot in the film version of " Cavalcade," which the Fox Film Company of America are making, lias now been decided. The part is to be played by an English actress, Miss Diana Wynyard, who has been in Hollywood for about a year. There she made her first success playing opposite John and Lionel Barrymore in " Rasputin," and was re-engaged to play in " Reunion in Vienna." The Fox Film Company have taker every possible precaution to make " Cavalcade" as English as possible. Clive Brook is to play the leading man —a part which will be greatly developed from the play script. Miss Una O'Connor, Miss Irene Browne, and Miss Ursula Jeans, together with a large number of London " props " and ex-Service men, have been taken over to ensure the right English atmosphere. This will be the first time (hat an allEnglish cast, including the director and scenario writer, lias appeared on a Hollywood " lot," and this is because Mr. AVinfield Sheen, who is in charge of Fox productions, is determined that the true English spirit should be preserved throughout so national a film.
