AFFAIRS OF THE BOARD [from our own correspondent] TAURANGA. Friday The Tauranga Hospital Board was advised at its meeting this week by the Director-General of Health that the Minister of Health, the Hon. J. A. Young, had approved of the board borrowing, by way of bank overdraft, an amount not exceeding £IOOO. Dr. J. B. MacDiarmid, medical superintendent of tlio Tauranga Hospital, reported that the new X-ray plant had been installed and was giving 'excellent results. The secretary, Mr. P. Luniley, submitted a statement giving the average number of occupied beds per day for the six months ended September 30 as follows:—Tauranga Hospital, X 2.285; Te Puke Maternity Hospital, 3.457.
