"PARENTS' DAY" AT SCHOOL

ANNUAL OTAHUHU VISIT "Parents' Day" was observed at the Otaliuhu District School yesterday, when the classrooms and grounds were opened to relatives of the children and the public. Keen interest was shown by the parents, who welcome (he opportunity annually of seeing tho children at work and at play and of inspecting specimens of their work. Each classroom was a miniature exhibition of works of art and natural objects, the majority of tho latter comprising native woods and specimens of New Zealand flora, which had been collected by tho children themselves. Recitations and group songs were given by tho children in th#..rooms, and during tho afternoon a display of physical drill and folk-danc-ing was given in tho grounds by tho senior pupils. The visitors were later, entertained at afternoon tea by the headmaster, Mr. A. Murdoch, and tho staff.
