GISBORNE ASSOCIATION [by telegraph—own correspondent! 'GISBORNE, Wednesday The eighth annual reunion of the Gisborne Returned Soldiers' Association was the largest gathering of its kind held by the association, about 400 ex-servicemen and their friends being present. It was the first occasion on which ladies were present. The speakers at the gathering included Mr. K. S. Williams and Mr. W. D. Coleman, M.P.'s, the Mayor, Mr. D. W. Coleman, and Major-Geperal W. L. H. Sin-clair-Burgess, General Officer Commanding the New Zealand Military Forces. Colonel Gambrill, who presided, mentioned that on March 31 last the Gisborne Association headed the membership list for the North Island, beating both Auckland and Wellington, although both Christchurch and Dunedin beat Gisborne, which was third for the whole of New Zealand.
