Vincent last evening:— The tropical disturbance has moved on to the North Island, and. a fairly intense cyclone associated with the depression is' centred northward of Cape Maria. Expect further unsettled weather, with additional . heavy rain in northern and east coast districts, and a scattered rainfall in places southward of Cape Egmont and Napier.,' Easterly to north-easterly winds, strong to gale, veering to south. Rough to heavy seas on the east coast, particularly north: ward of East Cape. Local outlook: Stormy, with heavy rain. Improving after about ; 18 hours. MikKtemperatures. GOVERNMENT REPORT 4 The Government meteorologist reported . last evening as follows Pressure is high to the eastward, but an extensive and complicated cyclonic depression covers the Tasman Sea. "indications are for freshening easterly to northerly winds, reaching galo force in the Seas becom- N ing rough generally. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate to strong and increasing northeast winds, backing to westerly jn tha northern portion; seas rough. Weather fair at first in eastern and southern districts, but elsewhere unsettled, dull and misty, with rain extending from the north and shortly becoming general.
