ALLEGATION OF FRAUD
- ACCUSED DENIES CHARGE [nY TBLEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] OPOTIKI, Wednesday In the Police Court at Opotiki to-day William Wright, a half-caste Maori, aged 55, was charged that at Opotiki with intent to defraud lie obtained from W. ,J. Hartley bread and groceries to the value of £2 14s Id by falsely representing that the goods were required for a hui at Opapo Pa and that t hey would be paid for 'by Paora Kai. After hearing evidence the magistrate, Mr. S. L. Patcrson, committed accused, who pleaded not guilty, to the Supremo Court at Gisborne for trial.
