RESISTED ARREST
HAWKERS IMPRISONED Two hawkers, Henry Frederick T?eid, aged 32. and .Tack Wilson, aged 36. appeared before. Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., in the Police Court yesterday, on charges of being drunk in Nelson Street on Tuesday evening and resisting arrest. Mr. Aekins represented the accused, who pleaded guilty, Detective-Sergeant Kelly said the accused were arrested for drunkenness by Constables Stewart and Yooward. Wilson was placed in a taxicab, but he jumped out and tried to throw Constable Stewart to the ground, while Reid also resisted Constable Yeoward. The magistrate convicted and discharged the men for drunkenness, but sentenced each accused to seven days' imprisonment for resisting arrest.
