INTER-CLUB COMPETITION AUCKLAND BEATS TITIRANGI CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS Members of tho Auckland and Titirangi Golf Clubs played a teams match at Middlemore on Saturday, the former winning by 15 games to 8, one being all square. PUPUKE CHAMPIONSHIPS I. G. MACKENZIE'S THIRD SUCCESS The finals of tho Pupuke Golf Club's senior and junior championships were decided during the week-end. I. G. Mackenzie won the senior event for tho third time in succession by defeating A. E. Browne. G up and 5 to play. The match was played over 30 holes and the golf was of a high standard throughout. Mackenzie recorded 68 in the morning's play, against 73 by Browne. In the afternoon both were level fours to the 13th. . , _ The junior championship was won by VV. I. Stemson, wKo beat C. F. Browne, 1 up. Play was even, but Stemson produced two fours *at the last two holes, and took the A bogey handicap match for a trophy presented by Mr. L. Nathan was won by B. De Clive Lowe (10), all square. NORTH SHORE CHAMPIONSHIPS COURSE RECORD IN MEDAL ROUND The finals of tho North Shore Golf Club's championships were decided on Saturday afternoon. The senior event was won by S. Layzell, who defeated B. Ilac, 5 and 3. Ihe match was keenly contested, there being little between the players at any stage until toward the iinish, when Rao lost five holes in succession. , . The intermediate championship was won by R. I'hilson. who beat A. Crompton 5 and 4. I. Harvey defeated R. Ash in the junior championship. 3 and 2. M. E. Thompson established a new record for the course, going round in 70 when Playing in a medal match. This match resulted in a tie between G. Downer. 80, 20 60, and A. Whyte. 84, 24—00. H. J. Preston returned a score of 81, 20—01. ONEWHERO CLUB [from oun OWN correspondent] TUAKAU, Saturday Visitors from the Pukekohe and Papakura Clubs joined with members of tho Onewhero Golf Club to-day in a mixed foiiraomes match, with which the season at Onewhero was formally closed. Tho winners were Miss Keals and Wilson, who returned a card of 34 net. Tho next best cards were:—Miss McGregor and E. Cameron, 35 net; Miss Jjindberg and Ilapson, Mrs. Watts and Muir, 37. At tho close of play the prizes won during the season were presented to the winners by the president, Mr. E. Muir. Mr. Muir was presented with a ect of crystalware in appreciation of his services as president. MATCHES AT WHANGAREI [by telegraph—own correspondent] WHANGAREI, Saturday The final of tho Hogan Cup was played at the Whangarei Golf Club's links Mount Denby this afternoon, when C. McM anus defeated J. Glanville. 2 up over 18 holes. At one stage Glanville was 1 up and 4 to play, but he missed a short putt at the next hole and McManus gained the lead at the 17th. Both played good golf, Glanville conceding McManus 3 etrokcß. Buckley and Glanville meet in the final of the senior championship during the week-end, the match to be played over 36 holes.
