WAIMATE TO CHRISTCHURCH RECORD ENTRIES RECEIVED [BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS association] CHRISTCHURCH, Monday

The Waimate to Christchurch road race next Saturday lias attracted 134 entries, a record. The scratch men are:—W. J. berton, H. G. Watson, H. J. Crofts, all of Christchurch. Other handicaps include:— Ten minutes, A. N. Ralston (Dunedin), N. Bellringer (New Plymouth); 16 minutes, C. W. Preen (Dunedin); 28 minutes, J. W. Mitchell (Timaru), G. Hewson (Gisbone); 32 minutes, T. J. Young (Temuka.); 45 minutes, S. r L\ Forsyth (Taranaki), J. L. Gilmour (Temuka); 38 minutes, J. A. Haigh (Mataura), C. Jennings (Palmerston North), H. Eva (New Plymouth), K. H. Booth (Invercargill); 41 minutes, J. S. .Kennedy (Dunedin), S. J. McMahon (Reefton), J. P. Wilson (Greymoutli); 44 minutes, C. Johnson (Temuka); 40 minutes, L. Hogarth (Greymouth), K. A. Watkins (Timaru), T. B. Church (Oamaru); 50 minutes, G. W. Rollerson (Auckland). The limit men are on 90 minutes.

INTER-CLUB CONTESTS [from our own correspondent]

HAMILTON, Monday

Two teams representing the Waikato Amateur Cycle Club took part in road races against the Papatoetoe Club at Papatoetoo on Saturday. Seven Waikato riders and 13 Papatoetoe men competed in an 181-mile race over a three-mile circuit. The visitors completely outclassed the home team and filled the first four places. Following were the results:—G. Cairns, 11m, 1; W. Norman, Bm, 2; C. Bell, Bm, 3. Fastest time, D. N. Pinfold (Papatoetoe), 30s. 60m 34 s. . In the ladies' race of six miles five Waikato and four Auckland riders, including Miss V. Baird, competed. The Waikato team was also successful in this event, visiting competitors filling the first five places. The results were as follows S. Johnstone, 3m 30s, 1; Miss R. Uarnpton, 1m 30s, 2: Miss G. Abbott, 3. Miss J. Johnstone, who was fourth, made the fastest time, 21m 445.
