MAORI'S SUDDEN DEATH
COLLAPSE WHILE WORKING [from our own correspondent] TE AWAMUTU, Friday One of the best-known Maoris in the Te Awamutu district, Tuhi Rangi Moeakau, an influential member of' tho Pualiu Tauri hapu in the Korakonui district, dropped dead this morning while working with oilier Maoris clearing manuka scrub on Mr. C. 11. Storey's Hairini farm. Tuhi, who was about 65 years of age, had resided for some years 011 aTe Awamutu domain reserve-at Te j Raliu, and was .known to .liavo heart j weakness. An inquest was opened this afternoon ; by the coroner, Mr. 0. A. Empson, and an adjournment was made for medical , testimony.
