i PATRON'S RETIREMENT REGRET' IN ENGLAND * LONDON. Sept. 13 In connection with the decision of Lord Wakefield not to participate in further motor-boat speed contests for personal reasons, his business associates estimate that he has spent £250,000 in motorboat racing, and £IOO,OOO on Miss England 111. alone. All the speed ventures he has financed have exceeded £1,000,000 in cost. Sir Malcolm Campbell declares that the is a great pity, and will mean serious loss to the cause of British motor-boating.
