MAIN TRUNK EXPRESSES
INCREASE IN TRAFFIC TRAINS ( FREQUENTLY FULL Traffic on the limited express train for Wellington is steadily increasing. This month the train has left Auckland with a full complement on several occasions and' on five nights it has been necessary to add an extra second-class carriage to accommodate all the travellers. On September 4, in spite of the fact that an additional carriage had been placed on the train, several passengers were obliged to stand for the first part of the journey. The ordinary Main Trunk express which leaves Auckland at 3 p.m. daily is not so well patronised and there is usually ample room. With the approach of summer and the holiday season, however, this train should be better supported. The fixpress trains from Wellington are, generally speaking, full.
