MONEY FOR BUTTER-FAT
NORTH AUCKLAND PAY-OUTS WHANGAREI AND HIKURANGI [from our own correspondent] WHANGAREI, .Monday Dairy payments in the Whangarei district continue to be very satisfactory. The two principal companies will make advance payments to-morrow for August supplies. The Whangarei Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, will pay out £9150, being an advance at the rate of lid per lb. for standard, as compared with £6161 for the same month last year, when the rate was lOd per lb. for standard, this being an increase of £2989. For the two months of the present season the amount advanced is £12,366, as against £8626 for the same period last year, an increase of £3740.
The amount of butter manufactured for August was 102 tons, compared with 75 tons in August last year, an increase of 27 tons. For the season to date the amount made is 145 tons, compared with 107 tons for the same two months last year, an increase of 38 tons. The Hikurangi Dairy Company, Limited, will make advances for August butter-fat at the rate of lid for first grade, involving a sum of £5348, which is approximately £llOO more than, the amount, advanced last year, when the advance was at the rate of ll£d for first grade. ■- The quantity of butter manufactured was 63 tons, as compared with 48 tons in the corresponding month of last year, an increase of 15 tons, or 30 per cent. This makes the total output for the three months of the current season 124 tons, an increase of 25 tons, or 26 per cent, compared with the same period of last season.
