POWER EXTENSION

papatoetoe service An extension of the electric-power supply line in Price's Road, Papatoetoe, to serve a new subdivision, was authorised by the Auckland Electric-Power Board at a meeting yesterday. The general manager, Mr. R. H. Bartley, said he had intended to report favourably on the proposed extension at the next meeting, but power would be required very shortly and he asked for permission to commence the work. The cost of the extension would be £550, and within 18 months there would be a return sufficient to meet cajsital charges.
