EXERCISES AT DARWIN POTENTIAL NAVAIi BASE (Received September IS. 5.5 p.m.) DARWIN. Sept. 18 The Australian Fleet has been exercising off Darwin. The admiral, captains and other officers are greatly impressed with the potentialities of Port Darwin and its harbour as a safe, sheltered, naval base. .Elaborate fortification work is baing carried on.
