FARMERS' UNION
QUARTERLY MEETING
The quarterly meeting of the SouthAuckland provincial council of the Women's Division of tho New Zealand Farmers' Union was held at Hamilton la&t week. The president, Miss Marshall, presided over a representative, gathering of branch delegates. Housekeeping matters were fulfy discussed. This work is growing and the housekeepers aro proving a great boon to country women. Tho provincial council's housekeeping secretary lias been able to supply 14 housekeepers this quarter to all parts -of tho province. Apart from this a number of branches are running their own housekeeping sections and they, too, have been kept busy. In the near future it is hoped to divide the provincial council into smaller provincial organisations, as many branches are unable to attend on account of travel-
ling distance and expense. The provincial president and district organiser is co-operating with branch presidents in several districts with a view to forming new branches in tho near future.
A number of branches from this provincial council will be represented at the bush nurse and housekeeping meeting to bo held in Auckland this week.
