WEDDING

GRIFFITHS—BLACKBURN At St. Thomas' Church, Batley,"'Yorka, the marriage took place on July 29 of Lieutenant-Commander Noel S. Griffiths, R.N. (Ret.), youngest son of the* late Rev. T. M. M. Griffiths, of Warmingham, Cheshire, and Mrs. Griffiths, of Auckland, to Mary Blackburn, third daughter of Mr. and 'Mrs. G. E. Blackburn, of The Mount, Batley. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. W. H. G. Shapcott, in a church beautifully decorated with lilies, carnations and sweet-peas. The bridegroom's father was at one time senior chaplain, Lucknow, India. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gown of ivory satin, with veil of Brussels net and a diamond naval crown brooch. Miss Nancy Blackburn (sister) was in attendance, wearing a dress of pale pink organdie and a blue cap with tiny pink rosebuds, and a naval crown brooch. Tlie best man was Mr. Herbert Radcliffe (fianco of Miss Nancy Blackburn).
