ST. JOHN AMBULANCE
BRANCH AT TAURANGA DECISION FOR FORMATION [from our own correspondent 1 TAURANGA, Saturday A meeting convened by Mr. F. C. Warner for establishing a branch of the St. John Ambulance in Tauranga wag> held this evening, and was well attended. The Mayor, Mr. B. C. Bobbins,'presided. Commissioner C. J. Tunks and Mr. S. E. Langstone, manager and chief transport officer of the Auckland division, and brigadesmeu from the Frank ton Railway division were also present.
Mr. Bobbins stressed the need of an ambulance in Tauranga. lie congratulated Mr. Warner on tho great, work he had done in promoting the movement. Mr. Warner said the members of classes already conducted were, almost ready to sit for their first examination. It was decided to form a Bay of Plenty branch of tho St. John Ambulance Association. An address on the history of the movement was given by Mr. Tunks. The election of officers resulted: —President, Mr. A. F. Tunks, chairman of the Tauranga Hospital Board; vice-presidents, Messrs. Bobbins, S. G. Willock, L. B-. Wilkinson, R. Hay, D. A. Ivory. G. S. Butler, H. Lewis" and W. F. Sinclair; secretary, Mr. A. J. Gallagher; treasurer, Mr. Warner; committee, Messrs. A. E. Hammond, W T . 11. Reed, F. Briggs, R. Bam berry, H. Stevens. J. 11. Garrett, L. E. Woods, ,T. J. Wrigley and Drs. J. B, MacDiarmid, T. Stuart and Watt.
