DISCOVERY ON DESERT AN EGYPTIAN TRAGEDY CAIRO, Sept. 5 A prospector named Duffield, described as an Australian miner of Scottish origin, who came to Egypt, during the war, was found buried in the sand with his companion, an Englishman named Hess, at a desert gold mine 30 miles north of Kossejr. Duffield is believed to have died from natural causes. Hess clasped a revolver in a bony hand. Under a. lease from the Egyptian "Government tho two men began to prospect in the Attallah desert in :L927. They were the only white men in an area of 500 miles of desolate country.
