Hopkins, of Epsom, returned from National Park on Monday. Miss Betty Parr will return to Auckland this morning from a visit to Nelson. Mrs. G. Walker and her daughter, of Auckland, are staying at Hotel Mon Desir. Miss Stennett, of Rotorua, is visiting Auckland, and is staying at the Station Hotel. Miss L. Snodgrass, of Tauranga, is visiting Auckland, and is staying at the Station Hotel. Mrs. J. -T. Williamson, of Wellington, is visiting Auckland, and is staying at the Central Hotel. Staying at the Central Hotel are Mrs. A. J. Cleverley and Miss M. Waymouth. of Whangarei. Mrs. L. 0. 11. Tripp, of Wellington, and Miss Elsmie Ward have returned after a visit to Rotorua. Miss Msrjoris Tiarks, of Burwood Crescent, Remuera, returned on Monday from a visit to Wellington. Mrs. J. Ellis, of Takapuna, who has boon spending the holidays at the aitakere Ranges, has returned to her home. Mrs C. M. Littlejohn, of Takapuna, and her sister, Mrs. Arthur Bailey of Mount Albert, returned on Monday from a visit to Rotorua. Miss Ethel Koefoed, of St. George's Bav Road, Parnell, is visiting Wellington, where she is the guest of her aunt, Mrs. W. Stevens, Sydney Street. Mrs. Norman, widow of Mr. P. Vigot Norman, of Malaya, will arri\e in Auckland from Singapore by the ISarbada, on Friday, with her infant son. Miss Watson Airey, Miss Winsome Airey, Miss Rona Gifford, Miss Edith Scheelo (Sydney), Miss Lois Cameron, Miss Hilary Biss and Miss Lois Manor, arrived back in Auckland yesterday from The Chateau.

A most, enjoyable concert was held by the Rocky Nook Bowling Club recently when Mr.' Neville Carlson and his troupe of artists provided a delightful entertainment. The concert was arranged by Mr. Randolph Eagleton. A successful old-time dance was held at the Parish Hall at Devonport on Monday evening, the proceeds of which were in aid of the Holy Trinity Church funds. The arrangements were carried out by the vestry men, who were assisted later at supper by the lady parishioners. 1"® dance music was ployed by Mr. Keg. Morgan. Hungarian music and comuposers was the subject of an interesting sketch by Miss Joyce Parker, president of the Auckland Piano Students' Association at the fortnightly meeting held on Monday evening. Following the sketch illustrations from Liszt, Brahms and Dohnanyi were given bv the Misses B. Pelham, J. Smith A. Walker, P. Wallace, C. Martin and E. Nops. A pleasant evening was spent at the Brown's Bav cabaret recently under Hie auspices of 'the Brown's Bay Progressive Association sub-committee. Ihe usual foitnightly progressive euchre took place, and the return match with Mairangi Bay was played under the supervision of Captains Mullenger, Brown's Bay, and Mitchell, Mairangi Bay. The match resulted in a win for the latter team. Miss \. Lovell and Mr J. Steel won the prizes in the usual progressive euchre. Old-time dancing was enjoyed at the conclusion of carets, and supper was served by Mrs. 8011, Mrs. Ross, Mrs. Mullenger and Mrs. Wilkinson.

Tlio lady associates of the Belmont Presbyterian Church gave a dramatic and musical evening in the church hall at Belmont yesterday. Two one-act plays were performed entitled "Five Birds in a Cage " and "The Best Cure." In the former plav the parts were taken by Miss Irma Waters, Miss J. Hay, Mr. Cyril Poland and Mr. Albert Charlton, and in the second by Miss Helen Charlton, Miss Marie Corner, Miss Elva Wrigley, Miss Ira Ardlev and Miss Dorothy Brooke. The remainder of the programme, which included pianoforte and vocal solos, was given by Miss Mavis Stokes, Miss Gladys Barton, Miss Eileen McCarthy, Mr. Cynl Poland and Mr. A. Charlton. The accompanist was Miss M. Stokes.

The Wharepai and Haeremai Oddfellows of Ivumeu held a most successful dance on Saturday evening, visitors from the surrounding districts being well represented. Clarke's Novelty Four orchestra provided excellent music, extras being played by Miss G. Faulkner. Among thoso present were Mesdames 0. Smith, Adair, E. Garry, R. P.
