INDOOR BOWLING
BIRKENHEAD AND NORTHCOTE Tlio members of the Waitemata Bowling Club were entertained at Northcote on Saturday afternoon by the Birkenhead ami Northcotc United Friendly Societies' Indoor Bowling Club. The occasion was the annual match between these two clubs. The president of the carpet .organisation, Mr. E. 11. Steward, extended a welcome to the large muster of green bowlers. A six rinks competition between selected teams was won by the representatives of the Friendly Societies, which won four games and lost two. and aggregated 14 points during the six heads played against the Waitemata total of 2ti. Mr. M. ■ J. Walsh, vice-president of tho Waitemata Bowling Club, expressed appreciation of the hospitality extended. He invited tho indoor playei-3 to an outdoor match on the Waitemata bowling green on Saturday, October 29.
