SPANISH POET'S RAGE

The Catalonian poet Ventura Gassols, who is also a member of the Spanish Parliament, had a compulsory hair-cut recently. Four unknown men waylaid him in tlic\ corridor of the hotel in which he was staying, and held him down on the floor of a bathroom while oue of them sheared his abundant locks. When they released him ho dashed into his room for his revolver, and fired several shots at them as thry rushed down tho staircase. It is thought that he hit, one of them. Blood stains were found on the stairs, but all of the men escaped.
