THE PENCIL SILHOUETTE
COQUETTISH TILT The pencil silhouette is a term for the new outline that will be predominant. Skirts are tightening considerably, only the flattest of pleats being permissible, shoulders and hips being brought very much into one line. Hats are still in the try-out stage. There is » small, flat-crowned model, rather like a Spanish sailor's, which would go well with the new fashions. With more dressy frocks there is a pretty version of tlie Dolly Varden straw, with the bunch of blue ribbons or flowers placed at the back, under the brim to give that coquettish tilt over the forehead.
I think, writes the authority, a good deal of red will be worn, so much so that jt may become ordinary and women who care for more "exclusive" dressing will find much interest in the rich Persian blues and deep rose shades that many of the more expensive cloth:; are being dyed.
