STEAMER SUNK
JAPANESE DISASTER LOSS OF SEVENTEEN LIVES , TOKIO, Aug ,31 A salvage steamer, which was proceeding from Hakodate, collided at 1.30 a.m. with the steamer Kuniiai Maru which sank immediately. Seventeen members of the cre.w of the Kumiai (a vessel of 990 tons) were drowned and 11 were saved.
