GENERAL STRIKE THREAT WAGES CUT AND DISMISSALS (Received September 1, 6:5 p.m.) CALCUTTA. Sept. 1 A general strike of raiiwaymen is threatened as a sequel to large reductions in staffs and cuts in wages on all lines. The railwavmen's Federation is to meet at Madras to-morrow to consider early action.
